There is no universal winner. A café with stable seasonality and one owner may thrive in a simple sheet. A venture-backed SaaS company raising a seed round usually needs one system for cash, ownership and the ask.

Where Replafin fits

Driver-based modeling for startups and small businesses

Replafin is driver-based financial modeling software: three statements from one assumption set, cash and runway walked from the forecast, templates for SaaS, café, retail, agency and marketplace, and read-only connections to banks, Stripe, accounting and payroll sources.

  • Built for operators who want plain language in Owner view and spreadsheet depth in Accountant view.
  • Raise-ready when you need it: valuation, cap table and raise plan, and on Pro a listing to approved investors.
  • Not a full ERP or corporate FP&A suite. If you need multi-entity consolidation across dozens of subsidiaries, look at tools built for that scale.

How to decide

Five questions before you buy

  1. Who maintains the model? One founder, an accountant, or a rotating cast?
  2. Where do actuals come from? Paste, CSV, or a connected bank and books?
  3. Are you raising in the next year? If yes, ownership and valuation need the same file as cash.
  4. How complex is the business? Single entity and one revenue motion, or multi-entity corporate planning?
  5. What must be true on day one? Prefer software that marks planned features honestly over decks that invent them.

Questions

Alternatives, answered

What should I look for in financial modeling software?

A clear driver set, three statements that stay linked, honest cash and runway, and a path for actuals from the bank or books. If you raise, you also want valuation, cap table and sharing without a second system. Prefer tools that state what ships today.

Is Replafin an Excel alternative?

For teams that outgrow linked workbooks, yes: it is a driver-based three-statement workspace with integrations, raise tools and an AI assistant. Excel remains useful for one-off analysis and exports. See Replafin vs Excel for the trade-offs.

How is this different from accounting software?

Accounting records what happened. A financial model projects what happens next and ties P&L, cash and balance sheet forward. Many teams keep QuickBooks or Xero for the books and connect them into the model for actuals.

Do I need enterprise FP&A software?

Usually not at seed or for a single-location small business. Full FP&A suites earn their keep with large headcount, multi-entity consolidation and corporate planning cycles. Start simpler until those constraints are real.

What does Replafin cost?

Starter is $200 a month for one company. Pro is $500 a month for unlimited companies and a listing in front of approved investors. See the pricing page for Investor access and Enterprise.
